Richmond, VA — (October 27, 2014) — If you have never heard of Psalmist Lisa Winn, that’s about to change!
She officially released her first CD in seventeen years during a CD release Praise and Worship party on Saturday night, October 25, 2014. Officially titled after her new CD, “The Light,” the evening was hosted by Destiny’s Daughters Empowerment Ministry LLC, and held at Cedar Street Baptist Church, where Dr. Anthony Michel Chandler is the pastor. This celebration quickly turned into a heart felt worship experience that touched everyone in attendance.
The evening was broken up into two parts. The first half consisted of familiar tunes that Winn, belted out flawlessly, as she showed off her ability to go in and out of falsetto, matched with powerful vocals causing many to slide to the edge of their seats. Her sound was strong, controlled, heart felt all intertwined with much fervor and grace. The second half of the evening consisted of some of her newer material from her new CD, “The Light.” “We didn’t sing long, but strong,” said Winn.
Singing back up for Winn were also some phenomenal singers including Chiquita Cross, Bernard Walker, Tammy Terrell Johnson, Jae LaVell and James Johnson. Their loving spirits truly matched their talents as they gave from their hearts and souls to support their talented friend Winn.
Also backing up Winn in song was the Cedar Street Baptist Church Mass Choir during the first half and friends and choir members from her college Alma Mater James Madison University during the second half.
However there is no doubt, that Winn was called by God to minister to the masses in song as she now moves forward to touch the lives of thousands with a newly released CD, “The Light.” The new release consists of 8 new songs, produced by the Minister of Music of Cedar Street Baptist Church and Emtro Records In-house Producer, James Johnson.
Her fan base is also already in place and growing with several from her college Alma Mater James Madison University coming out to support her, as well as countless family members and friends, including some who traveled from as far as Jamaica and Africa to be there to support her on Saturday night.
Dressed in a beautiful two piece black top and ethnic designer skirt, Winn was captivating from the time she was introduced until the last person in lined got a chance to take a picture with her.
Winn also expressed her love for her family and friends and her disappointment that her mother could not be there to personally be apart of the celebration. But during a floral presentation from her niece, she was informed that her mother was able to witness her incredible night, thanks to technology. That brought Winn to tears.
Simply, Winn is a phenomenal and captivating singer who loves the Lord and whose time has come to sing to the masses.

Winn, and what I believe happens to each believer when we pass from this earthly vessel and into His Presence, the Light.”
