After 35 Years Bobby Jones Gospel Gets Ready To Celebrate its Final Season

Bobby Jones 2015TBR — Washington, D.C. — Hard to believe but the longest running original top Sunday morning program on BET Networks and original cable television show is coming to an end after 35 years.

According to the BET, Bobby Jones Gospel, hosted by Dr. Bobby Jones, will pull out all the stops for its upcoming final season. Needless to say but the memories will be long. For years many have given credit to Dr. Jones for paving the way and giving many a strong platform to showcase their Gospel gifts and talents.

Those gracing the stage of Bobby Jones Gospel have included Kirk Franklin, Rance Allen, Byron Cage, Kurt Carr, Patti Labelle, Minister Earl Bynum, Yolanda Adams, Maya Angelou, Vickie Winans, Sheilah Belle, Kim Burrell and a long list of others.

The Gospel Trailblazer, had this to say during a recent interview, “It’s been a marvelous experience and I’m looking forward to a continued relationship, but for Bobby Jones Gospel, it’s the end!”

In the meantime, this season promises to be the biggest season yet, with gospel music’s most talented entertainers, choirs, evangelists and fresh faces set to perform and wish Dr. Bobby Jones a joyous farewell.

As for what’s next for Dr. Jones, he says, “We will see. I plan to maintain my brand name through BET and I know I’ll be doing something with Celebration of Gospel.”
