Jo Jo Clark 2015Richmond, VA (June 1, 2015) — “I am so honored and excited to announce that I am OFFICIALLY the VCU Black Awakening Choir Director for 2015-2016”, says Joseph “JoJo” Clarke.

Those are the words Clarke posted to his Facebook page over the weekend with more than 450 Likes.

Clarke says, “The University is giving me the opportunity to lead such a dynamic and authentic Gospel Choir with the responsibility to take them to the next level.” For Clarke this translates into transforming their already polished college sound to a national sound. “I am so grateful and humbled to be able to take on such a task.”

Clarke says, “Auditions will be held in August and the date is coming soon, so stay tune!”

Clarke is the former Youth Music Director of St. Paul’s Baptist Church and currently one of the Music Director’s of St. Peters Baptist Church. Clarke is also one of the members of the national gospel recording group RESOUND that continues to travel the country with concert dates.

Let’s keep him in prayer as he pushes his career to the next level.
